About Beskid Sądecki Landscape Park

Established in 1987, Beskid Sądecki Landscape Park encompasses a large portion of the Beskid Sądecki mountain range, part of the Outer Eastern Carpathians. The park covers a diverse landscape composed primarily of forested slopes, deep river valleys, and scenic ridges with elevations ranging generally between 500 and 1262 meters above sea level, with Radziejowa being its highest summit. Its geography is characterized by mixed forest ecosystems dominated by spruce, fir, and beech trees, providing habitats for a rich variety of flora and fauna, including many protected species such as lynx, lynx, and the European otter. The park also preserves traditional rural landscapes with small villages and cultural monuments that reflect the historical heritage of the region. Visitors to the park can enjoy numerous marked hiking and biking trails that traverse panoramic hilltops and valleys, allowing exploration of landmarks like the stunning Poprad Landscape and the historic spa town of Krynica-Zdrój nearby. The park’s natural beauty coupled with opportunities for bird watching, mushroom picking, and winter sports make it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Its combination of ecological significance and cultural richness offers visitors a well-rounded experience that highlights both conservation and regional identity.
